This 1992 Mercedes-Benz 500E was previously featured on BaT in May 2013 and shows 17k miles. Powered by a 5.0-liter M119 V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission, the car is finished in Black Pearl Metallic over gray leather upholstery. Equipment includes 18″ AMG Aero II wheels, a power sunroof, fog lights, Automatic Slip Control, automatic climate control, a Becker cassette stereo, heated power-adjustable front seats, and cruise control. Work performed in 2020 included replacing the engine wiring harness, spark plugs and wires, fuel filter, and tires. Acquired by the owner of the selling dealership in 2019, this W124 500E is offered with a data sheet, an owner’s manual, a spare set of wheels, service records, a tool roll, and a clean Massachusetts title.
The 500E was assembled by Porsche and featured wheel arch flares, revised bodywork, and a lower ride height when compared to other W124 models. This example is finished in Black Pearl Metallic (199) and features integrated fog lights, a retractable antenna, and a power sunroof. A July 2015 entry on the Carfax report lists “minor to moderate damage” to the front and left front corner of the car, and the selling dealer states that the fender was subsequently refinished.
Multi-piece 18″ AMG Aero II wheels are fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires that were mounted in 2020. The car is equipped with Automatic Slip Control (ASR), and braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs. The brake fluid was changed in 2020. A spare set of 16″ eight-hole alloy wheels is included in the sale, photos of which are provided in the gallery below.
The cabin features heated power-adjustable front seats upholstered in gray leather along with a color-coordinated lower dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Amenities include automatic climate control, a Becker cassette stereo, a power-adjustable steering column, dual front airbags, and cruise control. The headlight switch was replaced in 2020.
The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline, an analog clock, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 17k miles.
The 5.0-liter M119 DOHC V8 was factory rated at 322 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. The engine wiring harness, spark plugs and wires, and fuel filter were replaced in 2020.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission.
