This 1978 Jeep CJ-5 Levi’s Edition underwent a cosmetic refresh in 2022, which included rust repair, a repaint in Mocha Brown, and a re-trim of the seats in tan vinyl. Power is provided by a 304ci V8 linked to a three-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Equipment includes 15″ American Racing wheels, locking front hubs, power steering, a removable tan canvas soft top, Golden Eagle decals, a chrome front bumper, a fold-down windshield, a roll bar, a rear bench seat, and a heater. This CJ-5 was purchased by the current owner on BaT in June 2022, and it is now offered in Colorado by the selling dealer, a BaT local partner, on consignment with a spare set of wheels and a clean Montana title.
The truck left the factory finished in Mocha Brown (7B) and under previous ownership, rust repair was performed, and the front fenders, tailgate, and rear body mounts were replaced, and a YJ-style fold-down windshield was installed before it was repainted. Golden Eagle decals were applied to the hood, and additional details include a chrome front bumper, a tan canvas soft top, black wheel arch extensions, accent stripes, dual side mirrors, removable doors, and a trailer hitch bar. Blemishes are noted in the driver’s door jamb.

The 15″ American Racing wheels are wrapped in 33×12.50″ BFGoodrich All-terrain tires, along with a rear-mounted spare tire. The truck is equipped with power steering and manual locking front hubs, and stopping power is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drum brakes.

The driver’s floor pan was replaced, along with the carpeting, and the seats were re-trimmed in tan vinyl with Levi’s buttons under previous ownership. Equipment includes a rear bench, a cabin heater, a locking glovebox, a passenger grab handle, and a roll bar.

The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 90-mph speedometer with inset gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature, along with a tachometer and readouts for voltage and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 83k miles.

The 304ci V8 was factory rated at 150 horsepower and 245 lb-ft of torque. The fuel tank was replaced under previous ownership.

Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a three-speed manual transmission and a dual-range Dana transfer case. The axles are said to have a 4.10:1 gear ratio. The rear main seal was replaced in April 2022, and an underbody coating was applied under previous ownership. Leaks are reported at the rear main seal, transfer case, and left-rear axle tube.

A spare set of white-painted 15″ wheels with 235/75 Cooper Discoverer A/T tires are included in the sale.
