This 1987 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3-16 was initially delivered to Keeler Motor Car Co. of Latham, New York, and has since remained registered in that state. It is powered by a 2.3-liter inline-four paired with a dogleg five-speed manual transmission and is finished in Smoke Silver Metallic over black leather upholstery. Equipment includes a limited-slip differential, a self-leveling suspension, 15″ Gullideckel alloy wheels, an electric sunroof, a cassette stereo, cruise control, and automatic climate control. Purchased by the current owner in 2014, this W201 is offered in Connecticut by the seller on behalf of the current owner with manufacturer’s literature, service records, a window sticker, a clean Carfax report, and a clean New York title in the owner’s name.
The car is finished in Smoke Silver Metallic and features a body-color front air dam, side skirts, wheel-arch flares, and trunk spoiler with an integrated third brake light. Additional exterior details include integrated fog lights, headlight wipers, an electric sunroof, and asymmetrical side mirrors. Rust repairs were performed in 2016, although the seller notes corrosion around the front wheel wells. Close-up photographs of the exterior finish and trim are shown in the gallery below.

The 15″ Gullideckel alloy wheels have been refinished and are mounted with Kumho tires. An adjustable self-leveling suspension was equipped from the factory, and braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs with ABS. The power steering pump was rebuilt in 2016.

The cabin features bolstered sport seats upholstered in black leather, along with color-coordinated door panels and black carpeting. Amenities include cruise control, a driver-side airbag, a cassette stereo, and automatic climate control. There is wear on the seating surfaces, and the right front upper door card upholstery is loose.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline as well as gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and instant fuel economy. Auxiliary gauges located in the center stack display oil temperature and voltage. The six-digit odometer shows 134k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership. The instrument cluster was serviced and the odometer gears were replaced in September 2023.

The 2.3-liter M102 inline-four was designed in collaboration with Cosworth and was factory rated at 167 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. The distributor has been replaced.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a Getrag five-speed manual gearbox and a limited-slip differential. The clutch slave cylinder and transmission mount were replaced in 2013, and the car is not equipped with a catalytic converter.

The window sticker lists initial delivery to Keeler Motor Car Co. of Latham, New York, as well as factory colors, equipment, and a total suggested retail price of $39,600. Manufacturer’s literature and service records will accompany the sale.
The Carfax report is free of accidents or other reported damage.
