Bulletproof Automotive’s S2000 celebrates JDM tuning culture with supercharged power, sharpened handling, and a carbon-fiber body

- Bulletproof turned the Honda S2000 into a widebody coupe.
- Features a Varis Dark Panther bodykit and a Spoon hardtop.
- Supercharged engine makes 580 hp and revs to 10,000 rpm.
It’s been over twenty-five years since the Honda S2000 showed up, and somehow it’s still the car every enthusiast swears they’ll buy “one day.” Few cars from that era continue to inspire so many custom projects, and the latest is the BP25 from Bulletproof Automotive.
It carries a mix of styling, chassis, and performance upgrades that turn the Japanese roadster into something a whole lot sharper.

This build was conceived to merge Japan’s most respected tuning houses with the latest in high-performance tech. The finished car takes center stage at the SEMA Show, marking the 25th anniversary of Bulletproof Automotive.
A Coupe With a Screaming Bite
Starting from the outside, the once-open S2000 has been reborn as a coupe wearing a Spoon hardtop. What grabs the eye even more is the Varis Dark Panther carbon fiber bodykit, which brings reworked bumpers, broader fenders, new vents and intakes, and a huge rear wing.

The body is finished in a Lamborghini Balloon White color with gold graphics and exposed carbon fiber components with red accents. The racing-style wing mirrors are made of carbon and magnesium and the taillights feature custom LED internals.

One of the standout touches is a set of 19-inch BP-RW Evolution forged wheels, inspired by the traditional Japanese hammered-metal technique. They’re wrapped in high-grip rubber and conceal Brembo Pista forged brakes.
The suspension setup has been completely reworked with a Top Secret coilover kit, supported by parts from J’s Racing, Roberuta, Spoon, EVS, and Hardrace.
What Drives It?
Under the hood lies a heavily modified 2.0-liter crate engine paired with a Vortech supercharger. The result is a formidable 580 horsepower at 9,300 rpm, with the redline stretching to a screaming 10,000 rpm.
Power reaches the rear wheels through an upgraded six-speed manual gearbox and limited-slip differential. A vintage Amuse titanium header and 70mm Euro Dual titanium exhaust round out the setup.
Inside, the BP25 features a Mugen suede steering wheel and roll bar, Recaro RS-G seats with racing harnesses, an ARC titanium shift knob, an NSX-R horn button, and Alcantara upholstery with red stitching.
Ben Schaffer, Bulletproof Automotive’s founder, described the BP25 as a tribute to the spirit that first defined the S2000.
“We took that core high-revving, analogue purity and amplified it with 580 supercharged horsepower and the finest modern tech,” he says. “This is its final form, delivering an ultimate, visceral high-thrill package that reminds everyone why they fell in love with driving and distills the appeal of Japanese sports cars into one intense package”
