Kimera Automobili has earned a devoted following for its restomods inspired by the legendary Lancia 037. The only drawback? These limited-production machines, complete with rally-bred hardware, don’t come cheap. Expect to pay well over half a million dollars for the privilege.

Fortunately, for those who admire the look but not the loan, there’s a far more affordable alternative that might just fit on your bookshelf. The 1:18 scale model is a faithful reproduction of the Kimera EVO38, unveiled last year. It’s crafted from resin by a company called Tecnomodel.
Buyers can choose between two finishes, a rich metallic red or a distinctive goldish yellow, echoing the launch vehicle’s livery.
Both colorways are offset by exposed carbon fiber elements, including the splitter, grille, bumper intakes, side blades, mirror caps, skirts, and rear diffuser. The contrast adds depth and drama to the model’s sculpted silhouette.

The scale model sits on rally-style alloy wheels, complete with miniaturized Pirelli P Zero tires that even feature the red detailing seen on the full-size car.

Unlike die-cast models, resin replicas typically skip opening panels in favor of sharper details. Here, the payoff is visible in the interior. The cockpit features retro-inspired gauges, bucket seats, and a view of the mid-mounted engine through a clear cover.
In full scale, the EVO38 runs a turbocharged 2.2-liter four-cylinder engine with 600 hp (447 kW / 608 PS), paired with a six-speed manual transmission and a motorsport-derived all-wheel-drive system. It even includes an electro-hydraulic differential lock, making it every bit as focused as it looks.

True to Kimera’s philosophy, production of the model is capped. While the full-size EVO38 is restricted to just 38 units, all already spoken for, the scaled version will see a limited run of 150 pieces.

According to the listing on Store Motorsport Italia’s website, the 1:18 Kimera is priced at €300, or roughly $350 at current exchange rates. That places it above the typical resin model, though still well below high-end die-cast offerings from brands like Amalgam.
A short video posted online offers a closer look at the Kimera scale model, highlighting some of its finer details. The same retailer also showcased a 1983 Lancia 037 model paired with a Fiat 242 van and a matching trailer, all from Ottomobile. That set goes for €254 ($300) and makes a convincing case for a desktop diorama, or the beginnings of a very compact dream garage.
