Monstercat and Hospital Records Team Up for Transatlantic Drum & Bass Compilation

Few collaborations in electronic music carry the weight of Monstercat and Hospital Records joining forces. The two label juggernauts have spent years defining and expanding the boundaries of drum & bass, especially the legendary Hospital Records, a cornerstone of the UK scene since 1996. Now, their debut joint compilation sets a bold new precedent for cross-continental creativity in the genre.

Born from an intensive four-day writing camp at London’s TYX Studios, the compilation is a high-voltage showcase of styles from liquid soul to warehouse-shaking neurofunk. Each track has been crafted by a collective dream team of Monstercat and Hospital signees.

The rollout began with daily single releases, each revealing a new sonic dimension. The week started with “What Are We Proving” by hayve and DRIIA, who open the compilation with a slow-burning, emotionally charged odyssey. DRIIA’s poignant lyrics melt into hayve’s swelling basslines, delivering a track that pulses with introspection and raw energy. DNMO and SOLAH’s “Find Peace” follows, its vintage keys and crisp drums weaving through the latter’s soul-drenched vocals.

On the heavier end of the spectrum, “IDGAF” by Anaïs and hayve roars with razor-sharp sound design and unrelenting bass. Meanwhile, “Starchild” by Bensley, BOP and Degs blends celestial soundscapes with rapid-fire lyricism to administer a dose of euphoria wrapped in rhythmic precision.
